Hi I am Ayres Haxton. I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn with my wife Veronika (pictured left). I dj for a living. When I am not djing I enjoy riding my bike, going to restaurants, watching movies and picking pumpkins. I was introduced to this message board by Cosmo around three years ago and have a lot of friends in the real world who are also on the board. I am also on My.Space.

<<<<<<< I look like this.

If you are new or even just new-ish, introduce yourself, show us what you look like and tell us what brings you here.

Ohh I love these.

My name is Steve. I live in Buffalo, New York. I used to DJ a lot but now I am concentrating on running my clothing store and website. I have a dog, enjoy movies and recently have taken up smoking weed semi-ironically. I also like rap music, technology and women's body parts.

I gradually worked my way onto the board about two years ago as a few of my friends were already involved. I have met, hungout and slept with a lot of the people on here.

I am 26 years old.

Hi, I'm Andrew "Bird Peterson" Hoke. I'm 23 and I live in Austin, TX with my girl, Jessica. I produce and DJ sometimes, but mainly do art and film I also car wash attendant at the newspaper and work at a thai food restaraunt. I joined this board when Knuckstable and Dayta told me about it. I've made a lot of friends here, but I've never met any of them. I also spend WAY TOO MUCH FUCKING TIME on my comp. I'm a night owl and can't sleep ever. I take too much of the things said on this board too seriously. I may never meet but 2 of you cats, so it shouldn't really bother me ever. Thanks for all the knowledge on the Baltimore culture, it's quite interesting.

I also like folk music a lot. And I once found a 3 inch to quarter inch headphone connecter at Best Buy for Mike Jones.

Buy my album in November, please.

OH! And i like cats.
Bird

My name is Kristopher, DJ name: Capski. I am 21 years old and am a 7th grade English teacher on the North Shore of Oahu. I'm way too young to be a teacher, but here I am...waking up at 5:30 to get to school at 6:30 to let my kids chill in my room.

I most recently was living in the Bay and moved back to Hawaii for the school year. My girl, DJ Roza, still lives in the bay doing public health work and is blowing the fuck up DJ-wise. (Gigs at Milk and such).

I've met a handful of people on this board, and respect a shitload who I havent met in real life. Teachers, DJs, Lawmen, all them. I think this is the 4th board incarnation I've been on and it's been nuts the whole time.

I've been DJing for 8 years now and by the grace of some dope folks been getting gigs out here after some fun shit up in the bay.

After my 2 years of teaching are up i plan on trying to do more of this DJ thing and scoop up scraps that a friend doing A&R can throw my way.

hey all,

I'm Josh B out of San Francisco, CA. I'm also DJing for a good part of my income, when I'm not selling old records online or working my Thursday shift at the Groove Merchant on Haight st. Sounds pretty chill, but it's a pretty tough grind for us as I have a lovely lady and 2 kids along for the ride...as many of you know the Bay is not cheap living. I originally moved here from even more northern cali (Humboldt) in 1993 to skateboard and pursue art (legal and non)...and accidentally fell in love with mix and scratch DJing, and subsequently with my old love of record collecting.

My stepops was a crazy collector in the 80's and used to turn me on to lots of rap, punk, tons of reggae and acid rock back then; he had a big collection of lps and videos. He used to own a record store called Red Roach in the late 70's, before my mom met him. Anyways all that sparked my interest in seriously seeking out new music and I started collecting a lot as a mid teen. I had also played some instruments in elementary and high school, even did the State Honor band thing for trumpet.

I'm in a DJ crew called 4onefunk- along with Teeko, Max Kane & Mr B.
We have been doing turntable funk band(using isolated instrument sounds along with a live drummer) side projects like the Dollar Bin Quintet and 4onephonics (a collab with the local outfit Monophonics).

I guess I'm a :soulstrut migrant: as I found out about this site through friends over there. I know a handful of folks from this board in the real world. I like this place because people share a lot of cool stuff here and I like to find out about the different kinds of music people are making, feeling or digging up. The serato food is way cool too. I don't know anything about B-more, but I like it sometimes. I'm more of an old crusty west coast electro lovin kinda guy, haha.

Shit, i type too much when I ain't drinkin'. :P

I like: burritos, coffee, laying in the grass, on the grass

her's some 'art'

Nice man.

Hey,
I'm Simon, 29 Used to live in Morroco, then in New-York (Murray Hill). I'm a basement DJ/bootlegger.
There's some of my unsucessfull attempts here.
I do mountain climbing, ski, juggling, longboard (Montreal is a mountain, so we can fucking riiiiip it here).
Oh And I can cook a mean apple/pineapple crumble pie.

I'm enjoying the single life too much at the hotel. And I don't think my night job would be too compatible with a girlfriend either a.t.m.

I joined here when I saw more and more posts from Discobell mentioning Fathertronix...
Not a big messageboard fan, but winter is coming up...

Here's my evolution from

My name is Sushant Xavier but I go by Shona. I'm 21 and I live in San Jose, CA where time stands still. I used to run a crappy little music blog where I "met" Capski and the kid Nels. It was called "Futurism Ain't Shit"

I make shitty beats on Reason, skateboard and drink profusely on the weekends. I just had an interview at Crate And Barrel--wish me luck. I want to be a journalist but certainly not an a&e writer. I don't really dig the idea of commenting on the work of others as a full time job. I'd rather do my own shit. I was originally planning on studying film as an undergrad like all daydreaming pot heads but I'll put that off till grad school.

Aside from sharing six degrees of separation fron Kris, I have met absolutely no one on this board save jabbering on endlessly to a very gracious Catchdubs at a recent Milk show and yelling some incoherent obscenities/compliments at Low Bee at the S'Ro show. I also remember seeing dorfmania at the same show and mutually geeking out about our URL brotherhood.

My favorite pornstars are Avena Lee (sans braces), Aria Giovanni and vintage Raylene footage.

Hello.

I'm Tim, I live in North West London. I'm 30, and I'm an IT/Web/Office Manager.

I found the site after buying the Hollertonix album which got me back into buying rap music after a bit of a hiatus. I've never met anyone from on here.

I'm into reading The Economist and drinking coffee in the sun and trying to get girls to sleep with me.

This is me (it's the only image I could find)

My name is Mike Marquez

I recently moved to Brooklyn from the 50th state. I work with Mike40oz at the steakhouse and I live with him and my other friend Mike as well. I got into Hollertronix by my good friend/roommate Mike. I shot photos for them when they came out to Hawaii about 2 years ago and have been a fan ever since.

My interests are:
photography (no digital only 4x5, 120, and 35)
sitting in bars
running tabs at clubs
and figuring out how to not get sick

I am one of the many DJ Mike B's in the world... and I sometimes go by Dickie Greenleaf. I'm from LA and lived in NY from 96-03 holding down several ghetto residencies at the likes of Cheetah and NV (or Cheetah's and NV's if you will.)
Free music is the shit. I love it. I've been hearing about this forum forever and I finally took a look tonight and have been steady DLing for going on 3 hours. I liked it so much I registered... I DJ a bunch of nights out here in LA and throw a weekly Friday party called My Way at Monroe's Bar. We had Stretch Armstrong in the booth last week and he killed it... check out myspace/mywayfridays for the knowledge. When I make some new shit I'll throw it up on here... til then feel free to DL shit off my mypace page http://myspace.com/djmikeb and check my website which hasn't been updated in 9 months!!!http://www.chroniquemusic.com

hi my name is radge and i am a 23 yr old male (yo where the ladies in this intro section)
ive been a radio dj since 99 and a club dj since 03. i'm not extremely good, but i am getting better every day.
i joined up with the board at the start of 2005 because i enjoyed the hollertronix mixes that i had heard after hearing the Blakkk Jesus mixes on beats in space and have been a part of it ever since, learning all that there is to learn about music from some great people.
i live in australia and do enjoy barbeques, lawn bowls, swimming, summer and a good meat tray raffle.

i, like mel and mike, am a photographer and am moving to sydney in december to pursue this career in the fashion industry.
here is a photo i took of a friends band for an australian fashion magazine.

Image

you can hear their music at http://myspace.com/youngandrestlessau
theyre quite good

also, i have a photo blog walking on thin ice which i like quite a bit.

and this is jawntronix' favourite photo of me, probably because i am wearing no pants

Patrick. Came on the board a while back around the time that Casi G was doing that Icey Mike New Jersey dj beef thing. Just moved to Montreal from Vancuver to finish a degree. I don't dj but occasionally play records. Help run this record label (SLU) that puts out stuff that many of you would probably hate like Duchess Says, Channels 3x4, Dandi Wind, and Crystal Castles.

yo! What up ayres and everyone else. My name is Erick, DJ name erock. I got onto this board after I heard Hollertronix on Never Scared. I hung out for like two months before I posted anything cause I was damn scared of some rejection, but at this point I've been around for quite a few incarnations of the board including the weird board we developed on Myspace in replacement of the real board. I have met a few people from the board like ayres, Cos, Mike40Oz, Mike Famous, Caps, Jones, Catchdini, and Fina. I consider all of them awesome. Bbomb and Senari are awesome in Jawn Doe and I can only assume in real life, and when she posts, Trig is also dope. Despite the fact I havent met a whole bunch of people from the board, alot of them I would consider real good people and good friends (i.e. Stevie Kream, Kimble, CV, Bird, Knuckstable, Mike Robot). That is all. I am going to bed now. I will go to work hung over in 8 hours.

Peace y'all

Fuck the Cardinals...both St Louis and AZ

I'm Palmer. I proudly rep Portland, Oregon, though I was raised by hippies in Eugene. I've been DJing about 5 years, including a year of working at a really unimaginably terrible club. Right now I'm studying audio engineering at PSU, watching a lot of movies, and playing out as much as possible. I watched the last hollerboard for a while, but then it collapsed pretty soon after I started posting so I was hesitant to jump in again around here for fear of just being another youngin' bringing everything down. But I like the way things are going around here now, so what's up?

I'm Martin. I reside in Oslo, Norway. Been here since the last few months of the previous board. Used to lurk around for new shit and useful info on new shit, then decided to throw a few cents in every now and then because it's the right thing to do I guess. I dj (sometimes as DJ Hele Fitta F.A.C., sometimes as DJ Lada (hence the "l diddy")) regularly (semi-profesionally, if you like) in and around Oslo, and have been doing that for pretty much half my life. I am also 1/4 of Snuten (see the links in my sig). You probably don't know about us (although I gave you a CD in Oslo, ayres!) , but we've put out 2 albums plus a few 12"s (with remixes by people you might actually have heard of, like Lindström, Prins Thomas and Todd Terje) that I think are still in stock at TTL. I write music reviews (mostly hip hop) and more for a local mag. I also used to make beats and such, but currently retired. I love good music and good beverages almost as much as I love cunnillingus. These days preferably ghetto tech and beer. Sometimes Institubes and Fernet Branca. Or even some Harry Nilsson and semi-dry german white wine.

Me to the left, at WHut It Dew Oslo:

My name is Dave. I'm 32 and live in downtown Baltimore. I was born in Dundee Scotland and lived there until I was 17, I have a green card. I skate in the summer and board in the winter and will volunteer with either if the cause is right. I spin hip hop at 5 Seasons, Shorty's, Pramus.Com events and Sonar when needed and have been collecting vinyl and music in general since 89. My dad is a Mason and my mum lives in New Zealand and I haven't heard from her in 14 years. Not sure how I ended up on this board.

Hi everybody 8)

Hi, my name's Matt. I'm only 27 (but my mind is older). My last name starts with the letters "Paz" and so a lot of people tend to call me that. I am a senior analyst in the business operations department of a large pharmaceutical firm. I live in the renowned and elegant Lower East Side neighborhood of New York City with my lovely wife Kate.

I started posting a couple hollerboards ago while I was in graduate school, and since that time have met an extraordinary collection of individuals from here, and found all of them to be as charming and happy-go-lucky as their online personas would suggest. I enjoy attending DJ-related functions around New York and look forward to extending my geographic partybase in the months to come. I still play and make beat-related music, but not as often as I'd like.

I grew up in the great state of Wisconsin, giving me the pleasure/burden of being a Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan por vida. I lived in a tiny town outside of London, England for a few years in high school and attended university at a school called Oglethorpe in Atlanta, GA.

In my free time, you can usually catch me out socializing with my wife. We enjoy going out dancing, going to rock shows, attending sporting events, drinking wine, reading, and long-distance running. We are running the Dallas Marathon in December (her second, my first). This is what we look like when we are out socializing.

I could use a self-editor and have a tendency to "get cute" with language, but otherwise I'm a pretty good guy. Maybe even nice. If you see me in the club - holler. I'll be the one with the shiny head.

Oh this is fun!

Hello, my name is Nick Veit, I am 20 years old and live in north Philadelphia. I was born in Livonia MI then moved to Portland OR where I lived untill about 5months ago. I too enjoy spinning records, I purchased my first set up 6 years ago, it was a $300 dj in a box deal, I had no intrest in mixing records, it was great, scratching and freestyling with my friends after school...goodtimes. I too like riding my bike and have been know'n to do so with a fine young swedish gentleman that also frequents this board. Speaking of the board, I have been on here for something around 2 years, made many friends and even met my beautiful girlfriend Amy on it. I do like that picture of radge in his underwear...like steve I smoke weed but unlike him their is no irony involved...Ayres I think I rember you having a nice road bike, I would love to get a NY bike tour from you sometime...Special thanks go out to Cosmo for being a great dude (if you dont know him off the internets, you just dont know him.)
